Mapmaking using Tactile Colour
Our Project "Mapmaking using Tactile Colour" was successful. Sighted mapmakers and blind or visually impaired participants made tactile textured maps of areas of interest for the blind and visually impaired participants. The participants were surveyed to satisfy their criteria. This was followed with workshops where the maps were constructed using Tactile Colour with a legend of Braille or raised print. Each participant received the map of their requested area.
